And I will remember My covenant with
Jacob, and also My covenant with Isaac, and also My covenant with Abraham I
will remember, and the Land, I will remember. Leviticus 26:42
The
structure of the verse is a bit odd as it would seem simpler to state “and I
will remember the Land.”
Maharal of Prague suggests that the
Torah’s intention is to teach that remembering the Land of Israel ,
which has its own unique kedusha, and remembering the Patriarchs are
intertwined. Thus, the Patriarchs realized their potential because the
spiritual influence of the Land enabled them to achieve the level of holiness
they realized.
